Ingredients
  • 2 cup jowar/sorghum millet
  • 1 cup boiled spinach puree
  • 1 1/2 cup khandsari
  • 1/4th cup oil/butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup milk/nut milk
  • 2 tbsp Iyurved Daily Nutrition Savoury Spread (order here) and 1 tbsp of Iyurved Daily nutrition Veggies and Dal powder (order here)
Procedure

Take sorghum millet and Khandsari in a bowl. Put spinach puree in it. Add oil and vanilla essence. Add Iyurved’s daily nutrition savoury spread (order here) and Iyurved Daily nutrition Veggies and Dal powder (order here). Put baking soda and mix all ingredients well. Add milk slowly to make thick batter. Pour the batter into paper lined muffins cup tray or into greased muffins cup tray. Preheat the OTG for 10 minutes at 200 degree C. Place the tray inside the oven and cook for 25 minutes, till muffins turn golden. Healthy muffins are ready!!!

Let’s try to make every healthy food recipe for a child more tasty and nutritious with (hidden) veggies, herbs and nuts. Check this healthy millet bread recipe for babies, toddlers and kids. It is a healthy pizza recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 tsp yeast
  • 2 tsp Molasses or jaggery or coconut sugar
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (or little more)
  • 1 cup Sorghum flour
  • 1/2 cup Amaranth flour
  • 1/2 cup Potato starch or Wholewheat Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Chia seeds (grind into powder)
  • 3 tbsp Iyurved Daily Nutrition Savoury Spread (order here)
  • 1/4 cup Psyllium husk (Isabgol)

Procedure:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and add Iyurved Daily Nutrition Savoury Spread (order here).
  • Make sticky dough
  • Cover the dough in the bowl with dry towel and a lid and leave to rise double or 2 hours in a dark place
  • Preheat at 200 celsius for 5 minutes.

  • Transfer dough to a surface. Use lots of any dry flour and roll to shape dough into a log and tuck in the sides to make it fit the bread loaf pan (grease the pan if necessary).
  • OR can also bake dough in a pie round shape (see left pic)
  • Add sesame seeds on top of the bread for added nutrition (optional)
  • Slit dough top with sharp knife
  • Bake at 200 celsius for 60-70 minutes at lower/middle rack
  • Once done, leave to cool completely on a rag outside.
  • This bread is good for health!

Roast Ragi/ millet
Once aromatic add Ghee and Iyurved Spread
Keep Roasting till change in colour (keep low flame)
Take water and jaggery and melt
Once mixture thicken slightly, add mixture.
Keep mixing. Add more water if the paste becomes too hard to mix.
Soon the mixture will be cooked well and will leave edges. Add Cardamom powder.
Millet Halwa
Millet breakfast recipe
Serve this millet halwa garnished with nuts and cardamom powder.

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups Ragi (finger millet)
  • 2 tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)
  • 3 tbsp Iyurved’s 5 herbs and 7 nuts savoury spread (order here)
  • ½ cup jaggery
  • Water
  • ½ tsp Cardamom powder

Arrange all ingredients
Roast Samai (little millet) or Suji/ Semolina and keep aside.
Heat Oil. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, onion, ginger and peanuts.

Ingredients:

  • Ghee (clarified butter) or oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • Crushed roasted Peanuts
  • medium size chopped onion (or more veggies)
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 cup little millet or semolina
  • 3 tbsp Iyurved’s 5 herbs and 7 nuts savoury spread (order here)
  • 2 cups water

After the veggies are cooked and turn brown add Iyurved’s 5 herbs and 7 nuts savoury spread (order here). Roast again. Add millet or semolina. Add water. Cover and cook 8-10 minutes till soft and water is absorbed. Garnish with coriander. Serve hot!

Tip: Soak the millet for 20 min before cooking (why?).
