Ingredients:

  • 4 cup gram flour (Besan)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric (Haldi)
  • 1 glass butter milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek
  • 1 teaspoon asafetida
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Hand full of curry leaves
  • 2-4 green chilies
  • Grated ginger
  • 2 spoon Iyurved’s savoury spread with 5 herbs and 7 nuts (order here)

Procedure:

Take gram flour, turmeric, asafetida, salt, 1 spoon Iyurved’s savoury spread in a bowl add water and mix well to make a smooth paste. Keep it aside for half an hour. Make some small fritters. Further add butter milk in that remaining paste and mix well. Take 2 tablespoon oil in pan (Kadhai), put turmeric, fenugreek, asafetida, green chilies, grated ginger and curry leaves. Splutter the tempering without burning the spices. Put that gram flour and butter milk mixture and keep stirring until the mixture comes to a boil. Add water to adjust the consistency. Cook on sim flame for 30 minutes. Stir in between. At the end drop fritters and 1 spoon Iyurved’s savoury spread with 5 herbs and 7 nuts (order here) and simmer for a minute.

Recipe of beetroot idli by Iyurved

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup samai millet/ rice
  • ½ cup Urad dal (Split black gram)
  • 1 cup beetroot puree
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon ghee/oil
  • 2 tbsp Iyurved’s Weight Savoury spread (order)

Procedure:

Soak rice and dal for 3-4 hours. Grind it to make a thick paste. Keep it for rest overnight for fermentation. Add beetroot paste, salt and Iyurved’s Weight Savoury spread (order). Mix it well and pour the batter into greased molds. Put the idli maker into steamer, cover it and cook for 15-20 minutes. After that allow the dish to cool down and serve it with coconut chutney.

  • Mix of small cut capsicum, cauliflower, onion, chopped garlic
  • Soy chunks or firm tofu
  • Cumin seeds (optional)
  • other veggies (optional)
  • semi brown rice or any other
  • 3 tbsp Iyurved’s 7 nuts & 5 herbs Savoury spread (order here)
  • Ghee/Olive oi

Heat ghee/olive oil briefly, add cumin seeds and all the veggies to sauté. Iyurved’s 7 nuts & 5 herbs Savoury spread (order here). Once done for 5 min, add rice and Sauté for two more minutes. Add double water and cover the lid to cook. I cooked extra for my kids to enjoy soft broccoli and cauliflower. I saved this dish with mushroom and peas gravy for additional nutrition.

Avocado Banana mousse recipe by Iyurved
  • 1 ripe banana pieces (frozen for a few hours)
  • Medium avocado
  • ½ cup soft tofu or less than ½ cup nut milk (almond or coconut)
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp roasted pistachio powder
  • Iyurved’s daily nutrition chocolate spread (order here)
  • Honey/ jaggery as per sweetness or other sweetener
  • vanilla essence (optional)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder

Mix all in a blender. Keep it refrigerated in a bowl for some time. Serve.

Let’s try to make every healthy food recipe for a child more tasty and nutritious with (hidden) veggies, herbs and nuts. Check this recipe of millet multigrain whey bread with garlic flavour babies, toddlers and kids.

  • 2 cups millet mix of Jowar (sorghum), and amaranth flour or whole wheat flour
  • Salt as per taste
  • Whey to knead the dough soft and sticky (see preparation of whey above)
  • Seasoning Oregano (optional)
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 2 tsb garlic paste
  • sesame seeds of garnish (optional)
  • 2 tbsp psyllium husk (optional)
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 4 tbsp Iyurved savoury spread (order here)
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)

Mix all and knead soft sticky dough. Leave to rise for 2-3 hours covered with dry cloth and loose lid in a dark space. Once done, make small balls with holes in centre and keep on lined baking tray. Stick sesame seeds on top or brush with milk or egg or honey. Cover with dry cloth to rise for another 30 min. Preheat oven at 200 for 5 min and bake for 20 minutes. Take out and let it cool on rack. Mix Flour, cocoa, cranberries, melon seeds,Dark choco chips, jaggery
Add 3 tbsp Iyurved’s Daily nutrition savoury spread (order here)
Scoop balls and place on baking sheet. Bake them for 7-8 minutes.
After 7-8 minutes take them out and press flat. Sprinkle sugar, if desired.
Bake again for 8 minutes. Serve once cooled.

Chopped beetroot, carrot and broccoli
Mix well all the ingredients
Batter is ready to pour

cook on medium flame
Ready to serve

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Finger millet (Ragi)
  • Medium size beetroot
  • 1 carrot
  • Broccoli
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsps. Iyurved’s 5 herbs and 7 nuts savoury spread

Procedure

Finely chop beetroot, carrot and broccoli. Mix all the veggies and Iyurved’s savoury spread with finger millet. Make a thick batter but with pouring consistency by adding little bit water in it. Grease the appam pan with some drops of oil. Once heated pour spoonful of batter in each mold. Cover and cook on medium flame. After 3 minutes flip over each appam and cook from other side for 2 minutes. Take out on a plate and server with coriander chutney (Green chili sauce)

Pumpkin puree

Dry Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Jowar/Sorghum or whole wheat flour

  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of cinnamon powder
  • 1/8 tsp grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1-1.25 cups milk or nut milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Iyurved’s chocolate spread (order here)- Optional

Mix all the dry and wet ingredients. Whisk well. The batter should not be watery. Heat a skillet. Grease with oil. Once heated, pour a ladle of batter on to the skillet. Allow the pancake to cook on medium heat. You will notice the top side begins to get bubbles and air pockets and will slowly get steamed and cooked. At this point flip to the other side and allow it to cook for about 30 seconds. Serve! For chocolate lovers, you can add chocolate spread and make chocolate pumpkin pancake.

Ingredients & Procedure:
Recipe of quinoa millet pea meal by Iyurved
  • ½ cup quinoa or ½ cup Little Millet + Quinoa boiled in equal water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 3 tbsp Iyurved’s 7 Nuts & 5 Herbs Savoury Spread (order here)
  • ½ cup peas
  • 1 pod garlic and ginger chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • lemon juice fresh
  • green chilli chopped (optional)
  • salt
  • Chopped handful coriander

Heat oil in pan. Add cumin ginger garlic and onion. Sauté for a minute. Put peas. Add salt. Add chillies. Cook for 3 min. Add boiled quinoa/ millet (no water at all). Add Iyurved’s 7 Nuts & 5 Herbs Savoury Spread (order here). Cook for 5 min. Add lots of lemon juice to taste spicy salty and sour. All flavours! Garnish with coriander. Serve!
