Benefits of Panchamrit

What are free radicals?)

Different type of food allergies in kids

type of food allergies

Are you worried about food allergies in kids? As a parent, it is necessary that you are aware of the culprit foods that cause allergic reactions. And also replace them with healthy and nutritious choices. Firstly, let us understand what is food allergy and what are the common type of food allergies that kids face.

WHATSAPP for concerns like Speech Delay, Low Weight, Frequent Illness, Hyperactivity, Low Concentration, Weak Eyesight, Improper Sleep, Pigmentation, Pores, Face Marks, Fine Lines , Lactation etc.

What is food allergy?

Food allergy is an abnormal/adverse reaction that takes place in the body after the ingestion of certain foods. According to the National Health Survey conducted in 2016, around 6% of children have food allergies. In some cases, they also cause severe and life-threatening reactions. Mostly, parents are not aware of the food allergy in their kids until they get a reaction after giving the food for the first time. Hence, it is really important for every parent to know about the different type of food allergies and their symptoms. (Introducing solids to babies?)

TYPE OF FOOD ALLERGIES COMMONLY FOUND in kids:

Culprit foods that cause different type of food allergies in kids are as follows:

  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Peanuts
  • Tree nuts such as almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews
  • Fish and shellfish
  • Soy
  • Wheat
Milk Allergy:

The most commonly occurring food allergy in kids is milk allergy. Children below 3 years of age are more allergic to milk than other age groups. The milk proteins i.e. casein and whey proteins present in milk cause milk allergy. If the children are allergic to cow’s milk, they may also have allergic reactions to milk from other animals like sheep, goats. However, milk allergy is not similar to lactose intolerance. Moreover, children are most likely to overcome milk allergy by the age of 16, which is not the same as lactose intolerance.

Also check, Which milk is good for kids?

Egg allergy:

Children develop allergic reactions to an egg when their immune system sensitizes the proteins in egg whites or yolks. Children with egg allergy are allergic to either egg white or yolk or sometimes both. Since the egg is used in the preparation of many foods such as bakery products, salad dressings, ice cream, care should be taken to eliminate these foods completely from the diet.

Also check, What are the other source of protein rich foods?

Peanut and tree nut allergy

The peanut and tree nut allergy are always confusing. Peanut belongs to the legume family as that of soybeans, peas while tree nut do not. Kids allergic to peanuts may also be allergic to at least one of the tree nuts.  Therefore, giving candies, cereals and, baked goods containing peanut and tree nuts to kids is not advisable.

Fish and shellfish allergy:

Fish and shellfish allergy are not as common as the other allergies in kids. A shellfish allergy is caused when body attacks proteins from the crustacean and mollusk families of fish, commonly known as shellfish. In addition, they can cause a serious and potentially fatal allergic reaction with symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea.

Wheat allergy:

Wheat allergy is one of the type of food allergies which occurs as an allergic response to any of the proteins found in wheat. It affects mostly children but they usually outgrow this allergy by the time they reach ten years of age. It is known to be acquired from parents (i.e. if a parent is allergic to wheat, the child may also be allergic). Wheat allergy is different from gluten sensitivity or celiac disease.

Soy allergy:

Soybean, a member of the legume family causes allergy in young children below 3 years of age. Soy allergies are triggered by a protein found in soybeans. However, almost 70% of the children overcome this allergy when they reach adulthood.

What are the symptoms TO food allergIES?

When a particular food that is allergic is ingested into the body, it is considered a foreign particle. The body’s immune system starts producing chemicals called histamines against the food allergens which triggers the allergic responses.

These allergic responses vary from person to person and can appear immediately or after several hours following the food intake. Reactions can be mild or severe affecting one or more parts of the body. This might involve skin (eczema), gastrointestinal system (child stomach pain), cardiovascular system (fainting), and respiratory system (shortness of breath).

The mild symptoms to food allergies include:

  • cough
  • runny nose
  • diarrhea
  • itching
  • nausea
  • red rashes
  • shortness of breath
  • child stomach pain
  • sneezing
  • vomiting
  • wheezing
  • itchy bumps or hives on the skin

Severe allergic reactions called anaphylaxis are also developed in children like:

  • chest pain, low pulse
  • wheezing  and difficulty breathing
  • swelling in tongue, lips, and throat
  • hives – an itchy and bumped rash
  • fainting
  • nausea or vomiting
  • turning blue

Tests for food allergies

Pediatrician will prescribe appropriate tests for food allergies. This might include blood test, skin prick test or dietary review. The doctor might conduct an interrogative session to know the child’s symptoms. Like how often the reaction occurs, the onset of symptoms from the time of food intake, and family history for allergies, before running the test.

  • Skin prick test: Tests for food allergies by pricking the forearm skin and exposing it to the food allergens. If reddish raised spots or bumps appear within 15 minutes, it means that the child is allergic to that particular food.
  • Blood test: To check the presence of IgE antibodies in the blood after the consumption of particular food.
  • Dietary review of foods: To understand the symptoms and identify the food allergens.

A food challenge test might also be conducted where the amounts of the food allergen are increased slowly, and the symptoms are noted down by the doctor. This is usually done to check if the child has overcome an allergy.

Treatment for food allergies

The child diagnosed with food allergies will have to eliminate the food causing allergic responses from the diet completely. Parents should always check the allergen labels of all the packaged food products.

Though it is not possible to cure food allergies, but the symptoms can be treated. Antihistamines are administered to kids to treat the symptoms such as itchy rashes, runny nose or child stomach pain. In case the child faces severe allergic symptoms, parents should consult the pediatrician.

Difference between food allergy and food intolerances

Parents are often confused with the terms “food allergies” and “food intolerances”. Food allergy induces an immunological response whereas food intolerances do not. Food intolerance is related to the digestive system and the body finds it difficult to digest a certain food. Both of them might show similar symptoms but the treatment varies. The best way to prevent both of the conditions is to avoid the foods causing allergies.

Some examples of food intolerances are lactose intolerance, celiac disease, etc. In the case of lactose intolerance, the lactose sugar found in cow’s milk is not digested by the body. Celiac disease causes an immune reaction damaging the lining of the small intestine when gluten protein is taken. The symptoms are normally observed over time when the food that is allergic is consumed more. The best treatment for food intolerances is to avoid the foods that cause symptoms mainly child stomach pain. The doctor may also advise different ways to prevent or overcome the reactions.

Child with Developmental Delay: Signs & Remedies

Child with Developmental delay

What is developmental delay in A child?

A child with developmental delay means that the child has not reached a specific milestone according to his/her age group. Or lags behind their peers in one or more areas such as emotional, mental or physical growth. For example, some common milestones are giving the first smile, speaking the first word, taking the first step, being able to sit and crawl. And also expressing emotions like happiness, anger, joy and excitement. Since the first few years of a child’s life are very important for their future growth and development, any kind of a child developmental delay can have a negative effect on a child’s social, emotional and mental growth. (Which foods should be introduced to babies?)

CAUSES AND RISK FACTORS OF CHILD DEVELOPMENTAL DELAY:

  • Premature Birth
  • Genetic conditions like down syndrome or muscular dystrophy
  • Malnutrition (Why nutrition is important?)
  • Poor eyesight or hearing
  • Alcohol or drug use during pregnancy
  • Physical abuse
  • Lack of oxygen during delivery

5 Types of Child Developmental delay

  • Language or speech
  • Motor Skills
  • Vision
  • Cognitive skills
  • Social and emotional skills

Global developmental delay in children refers to infants or preschoolers who face delays in two or more of these areas lasting for at least 6 months. However, there is a difference between developmental delay and developmental disabilities. While developmental delay is temporary and can be treated, developmental disability like cerebral palsy, hearing loss and autism is permanent and cannot be treated. Firstly, let us understand what are the causes, warning signs and treatment for different types of child developmental delay. (How balanced diet can help in proper growth and development?)

WARINING SIGNS FOR CHILD with DEVELOPMENTAL DELAY:

Since child with developmental delay will not be able to reach one or more of the milestones according to his/her age. Therefore, early treatment can make a big difference in the progress the child makes. Contact doctor if the child has any of the following signs at the age that is mentioned. And in addition, watch for any loss of skills that have already been learned.

Language and Speech Developmental Delay IN CHILDREN:

Language development of the child is an important aspect in child’s overall growth and development. But speech and language problems are the most common developmental delay a child faces. Best Milk For Babies: A Guide To Safely Introduce Milk

milk for babies

Which is the best milk for babies? What is the right quantity of milk required for my baby? These are the questions that keep bothering a new or first time mom. Milk plays an important role in the kid’s nutrition. Whether it is an infant drinking breastmilk or a toddler eating cereal with milk or even a teenager drinking milkshakes or smoothies, milk is an essential part of the diet at various stages of growth and development.

WHATSAPP for concerns like Speech Delay, Low Weight, Frequent Illness, Hyperactivity, Low Concentration, Weak Eyesight, Improper Sleep, Pigmentation, Pores, Face Marks, Fine Lines , Lactation etc.

Why is milk important for babies?

Babies’ stomachs are small and they grow very fast. Everything that enters their mouth should contribute to their growth. The reason milk is so important for babies is that it provides fats, calories, minerals, vitamins and proteins which supports their growth.

Which is the best milk for babies?

As parents, we always want our little ones to be consuming the healthiest option to allow for proper growth and development. And often think which milk is best for child. There is no specific milk which can be termed as the best milk for babies. For 0-6 months old babies, there are options of giving breastmilk, formula milk or a combination of both. Let us understand the benefits of different types of milk:

Also check, Baby’s growth and development?

Breast Milk For BABIES:

American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) strongly recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life and to continue it for at least 12 months. Breastfeeding is a good choice for both babies and mothers. For babies, it can protect against infections and reduce the rates of future health problems like diabetes, obesity, and asthma. For mothers, breastfeeding helps the uterus to contract and bleeding to cease more quickly after delivery.  Breastfeeding also reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer and also provides a great way for mothers to bond with their babies. You can either feed the baby directly or pump your milk and use a bottle to feed the baby.

Advantages of Breastmilk:

  • best source of nutrition for new baby
  • proteins in breastmilk are easy to digest
  • calcium and iron in breastmilk can be easily absorbed
  • helps to build immunity & fight diseases
  • contains probiotics and prebiotics

Formula Milk FOR BABIES:

Although breastmilk is the best source of nutrition for babies, sometimes mothers choose not to breastfeed due to lack of milk production, health problems, lactose intolerance in baby or shorter maternity leaves. In such cases, formula milk comes in handy as a substitute for breastmilk. Formula milk is fortified with essential nutrients required for the baby and is designed to be as effective as breastmilk. There are a variety of baby milk powders or formula milk available in the market. Parents get confused in deciding which is the best formula milk for baby. Some points to keep in mind while choosing the right formula milk for your baby are mentioned below:

  • Consult your pediatrician
  • Choose age-appropriate formula milk for your baby
  • Read the ingredients before deciding which brand to buy

Cow’s Milk for TODDLERS:

As babies turn into toddlers, parents are worried about which milk is best for child at this age ? Cow’s milk, buffalo milk, goat’s milk? Cow’s milk (whole) naturally contains protein, calcium, potassium and vitamin B12 and is fortified with vitamin D. Best time to introduce cow’s milk to babies is after 12 months of age. And this is because it contains dense concentration of proteins and minerals which can be hard on your baby’s kidneys. You can give cow’s milk in the form of yogurt, cheese and kefir if the child doesn’t prefer the liquid form. Keep in mind that toddlers who are still on breastfeed or formula milk, don’t necessarily need cow’s milk, but they do need extra vitamin D from other food sources. After 2 years of age, you can check with your pediatrician and go for reduced fat milk.

Also check,Nutrition for kids?

Goat’s Milk:

Goat’s milk is high in proteins and contains minerals like sodium, potassium, calcium and phosphorous. But, it is not recommended for babies below 1 year. You can introduce goat’s milk to a toddler after consulting a pediatrician.

Benefits of goat’s milk:

  • reduces constipation
  • excellent source of vitamin B1, chlorine and vitamins
  • reduces cancer and diabetes
  • lowers cholesterol levels

Buffalo Milk:

Buffalo milk is considered heavy for digestion for babies as it contains higher fat content and is thicker in consistency as compared to cow’s milk. As with cow’s milk, buffalo milk also should be avoided till 1 year of age and should be introduced only in small quantities initially.

Non Dairy Alternatives:

If your child is lactose intolerant or vegan, you would be looking for non-dairy milk alternatives. Kids with lactose intolerance are not able to fully digest the sugar (lactose) in milk and this results in diarrhea, gas and bloating. In such cases, non dairy substitutes like soy milk, almond milk, rice milk and for below 6 months babies, lactose free formula milk are the options. After 6 months, you can give yogurt/curd as it has active bacterial cultures and less lactose as compared to milk.

How much milk should baby drink?

Knowing how much to feed your newborn baby is very difficult. Let your baby decide how much he/she wants to drink. You should not feed forcefully. Consult your doctor if required. Guide to feeding newborns:

AGEAmount per FEEdFEedINg frequency
Newborn 45-90mlEvery 2-3 hours
1 month 120mlEvery 3-4 hours
2 months 120-150mlEvery 3-4 hours
4 months 120-180mlEvery 3-4 hours
6 months 180-230mlEvery 3-4 hours
Guide for feeding milk for babies

After six months, solids are introduced to babies and hence the quantity of milk is gradually reduced and the process of weaning starts. American Association of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends 2 cups of milk for younger kids and 3 cups of milk for older kids. (How to wean off baby?)

Nutritional Needs in Adolescence

Nutritional needs in Adolescence

How healthy or disease free your adulthood will be, depends on the foods you consumed during your early childhood and teenage days. Certainly, children go through various stages of growth and development from infant (0 to 1 years old), toddler (1 to 3 years old), early childhood (4 to 8 years old), middle childhood (9 to 11 years old) to adolescence (12 to 18 years old) . That is why at each stage, you will observe various mental and physical developments in your child. How are nutritional needs in adolescence different from earlier years? (Power foods for kids of all ages)

WHATSAPP for concerns like Speech Delay, Low Weight, Frequent Illness, Hyperactivity, Low Concentration, Weak Eyesight, Improper Sleep, Pigmentation, Pores, Face Marks, Fine Lines, Lactation etc.

What is Teenage?

Teenage is the time between thirteen to nineteen years of age in a person’s life. And this is the time for some major physical, mental and hormonal changes. Since there are so many changes taking place in the body, it becomes very important for parents to know what are daily nutritional requirements for teenagers. So when kids enter their teens, parents should understand how nutritional needs in adolescence are different from preteen years. (What is Puberty?)

Growth and Development during ADOLESCENT years:

Teenagers undergo major physical development during their puberty phase. These physical changes are regulated by changes in the levels of hormones which are produced by the pituitary gland: luteinizing hormone (responsible for menstrual cycle in girls) and follicle-stimulating hormone (responsible for reproductive system in both girls and boys). As a result, in the early puberty phase, luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone increase, resulting in major physical changes including weight gain, outbursts of acne, height gain and behavioral changes like anxiety, hyper-activity and short-temperedness. (Fruits for teens?)

WHAT ARE THE Nutritional needs IN ADOLESCENCE?

Teenagers tend to make more food choices on their own as they become more independent and are often influenced by their peers. So it becomes parent’s responsibility to provide them with good examples and nutritious foods and minimize the consumption of junk or packaged food. (Kids can deplete their calcium by eating junk food.)

Calorie requirements:

Due to the growth spurt of puberty, there is a surge in appetite around the age of ten in girls and twelve in boys which leads to increase in daily calories requirement during this time. Calories are the measurement used to express the energy delivered by food. The body of an adolescent needs more calories during than at any other time of life. (What is growing leg pain?) On average, boys require 2,800 calories per day while girls require 2,200 calories per day.

Essential Nutrients:

Due to so many changes taking place in the body, there are daily nutrients and habits that kids need to keep themselves happy and healthy. Nutritional needs in adolescence includes all the essential macronutrients and micronutrients in the right quantity. (What is balanced diet?)

Macronutrients:
  • Protein: Adolescent needs a balanced meal with adequate amounts of protein during puberty as protein helps in growth and repair of muscles and tissues. It also generates enzymes and hormones. Protein rich diets help them to feel energetic throughout the day. Nuts, seeds, chicken, eggs, fish and cheese are a few high protein foods. (Top nuts and seeds for protein)
  • Carbohydrates: They are the biggest source of energy for teenagers. Almost 60% of energy (calories) for the day must come from carbohydrate foods. They provide instant energy and keep the kids on their toes. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains and sugar are rich in carbohydrates. (Food for immunity?)
  • Dietary Fat: Fat should make up no more than 30% of the diet. A teenager who indulges in a fat-heavy diet is going to put on weight, even if he or she is active. Dietary fat contains varying proportions of three types:
  • Monounsaturated fat is the healthiest kind of fat and is found in olives, olive oil, peanuts, peanut, peanut butter, cashews, walnuts, walnut oil and canola oil.
  • Polyunsaturated fat is found in corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, and sesame-seed oil.
  • Saturated fat is the most cholesterol laden of the three and is found in meat and dairy products like beef, pork, lamb, butter, cheese, cream, egg yolks, coconut oil, and palm oil. (Natural sources of saturated fats?)

Your family’s intake of saturated fat should not more than 10% of your total daily calories. The other 20% of daily calories from dietary fat should come equally from the two unsaturated kinds of fat.

Micronutrients:
  • Iron: Iron is essential for teens, especially for girls as they lose more of it once menstruation starts. Iron rich foods such as meat, fish, poultry, green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds should be  teenagers on a daily basis.(How iron deficiency affects children?)
  • Calcium and Vitamin D: Adolescent needs calcium to build strong bones which can help them later in life. Deficiency of calcium can increase the risk of developing osteoporosis (a condition in which bones become weak and can easily break). Consumption of vitamin D is equally important as it helps in absorption of calcium. Calcium rich foods include low-fat milk, other dairy foods and dark green vegetables, along with fortified foods like fortified juice and cereal. (Why calcium and vitamin D are important?)
  • Vitamins: Vitamins are water-soluble or fat-soluble. Leafy vegetables, animal products, nuts & seeds, vegetable oils, dairy foods are rich in fat-soluble vitamins (vitamin A, D, E and K ). Whereas nuts & seeds, fruits, vegetables, grains, milk and dairy foods are high in water-soluble vitamins (vitamin C, the B vitamins). (What foods have which vitamins?
  • Minerals: Minerals include calcium, iron, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, chloride and Sulphur are found in nuts, seeds, shellfish, chicken, eggs, beans, cocoa, avocados, berries, yogurt and cheese. (Why calcium?)

Indian Food Tradition: Authored By Meena Singh – Ballia

We speak to lots of parents, grandparents and great-grandparents about food and tradition and some stories are simply nostalgic. All stories are special for us. They are raw, unfiltered, peculiarly nostalgic, and explain the contrast between traditional lifestyle/eating patterns and modern-day lifestyle/eating patterns in the most basic yet beautiful way. If you are a parent and this story took you down the memory lane, share with your friends and family.

As Written by Meena Singh (Ballia, U.P.) – 66 Years

I was born in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. We were 10 siblings (you can laugh :)) I belonged to a joint family, all the kitchen work was done by mother, aunt and grandmother. There were two types of chulhas in the kitchen, chulha and stone coal-burning fireplace. Spices or soaked lentils used to be ground on silbattey. He was our grinder, there were wells in the houses for water. Fruits, vegetables and other grains were all home made. After a few years of marriage, when I had to come to Kanpur due to husband’s job, then the whole living condition changed, the convenience increased but the taste of the stove was not there in the food. Then there were 3 children, the day used to pass in their care. In those days, even after buying vegetables, fruits, grains, milk from the market, pure milk was available, parties were mostly held on children’s birthdays only! Children used to eat chickpeas, pulao, curd very much. Laddu sweets, chips, papad, all used to make at home, all kinds of pickles, gooseberry jam, fruit jam my mother used to send. When I see children and grandchildren, I see a big change in food, everyone is so busy in life that packed food and junk food has taken the place of home food, which is very harmful for health. Even after spending money on vegetables and fruits, there is no guarantee of purity. In the last I would like to say that today’s parents should pay attention to the health and lifestyle of their children because health is everything.

I am very grateful to Iyurved for sharing my childhood memories and giving me this platform. I truly believe that nowadays children do not get the kind of nutrition and food that we used to get in childhood. It is great that Iyurved is making such nutritious food products for kids. This is the need of the hour.

I especially like Savoury spread because it can be mixed in any food we normally eat.

Regards,

MEENA SINGH

We 5 sisters
With my younger daughter

WHATSAPP to talk an expert!!

SIGNS OF POOR CONCENTRATION IN KIDS:

If your child has difficulty focusing on something for very long, he/she might be suffering from low concentration or concentration problems. This lack of focus can be seen in his/her studies and other activities as well. Let’s understand the signs of poor concentration in kids:

  • Easily distracted
  • Lack of interest
  • Inability to sit still and think
  • Inability to follow instructions
  • Loses things easily
  • Moody, irritable and cranky most of the time
  • Hyperactive
  • Fidgety
  • Inability to organize his/her things

Also check, Focus and attention building games for brain.

What CAUSES poor concentration in kids?

Lots of distractions:

Children are naturally curious and their mind is always wandering. TV, video games, mobile phones etc. act as an easy distraction for them. Make a schedule or time table for study time, tv time, play time and make sure they following it regularly. Gradually your child will understand  that during study time, he/ she needs to focus only on studies and they will get to do the rest of the things as well.

Challenging tasks:

Sometimes children might find the question or task given to them too difficult or challenging. In such cases, they might not be able to focus completely and will lose interest also. Breaking down the big task into smaller and simpler tasks which are age appropriate for your child and motivate your child on completion of every single task.

Lack of sleep:

Studies have shown that kids who regularly get adequate amounts of sleep have improved concentration, attention, behavior, learning, memory and most importantly, mental and physical health. Most of a baby’s brain development happens during sleep. At least eight to twelve hours of sleep every night is very important for the proper brain development of children. Make sure that your child gets enough sleep and also try to not disturb their routine by staying up too late. Also check, Sleep for brain development?

Seeking parent’s attention:

Sometimes kids don’t do their work and concentrate properly just to get the attention of their parents. Spend some quality time with your child everyday and help them feel more secure and loved.

Poor diet:

Skipping breakfast and improper nutrition can also affect your child’s concentration power. Help your child by giving him/her a balanced diet every day and ensure that your child doesn’t skip any meal, especially breakfast.

Also check,Why is balanced diet so important?

Emotional disturbance:

If there is any kind of disturbance at home like a parent’s fights, divorce or death of a loved one, then the child might be emotionally disturbed and this will affect not only his/her concentration but also overall performance. Keep your child away from the troubles at home and give them more emotional support during this troubled time.

Less physical activity:

Less physical activity or lack of physical exercise can make your child lazy and lethargic thereby affecting his/her concentration negatively. Take your child out for cycling, running, outdoor activities and games.

Lack of motivation or interest:

Lack of interest or motivation in a particular subject or activity also causes poor concentration in kids. Advanced kids or kids who have higher than average IQ levels, suffer more due to lack of interest or motivation. Motivate and encourage your child for every small achievement.

Cluttered and disorganized workspace:

Having a cluttered workspace or notebook may lead to spending more time looking for the things than focus on what is being taught. Teach your child to be organized and help them to stay clutter free.

Learning difficulties:

In some cases, learning difficulties like ADHD, Dyslexia or ADD might be responsible for low or proper concentration in kids. You can help by consulting a professional for proper diagnosis and guidance in such cases.

Tips on how to improve concentration in kids:

Here are some simple activities for concentration and memory of kids,

Brain exercises: Solving different kinds of puzzles or playing memory games, sudoku, chess can help to improve concentration in kids.

Meditation: Meditation and mindfulness practices can help in improved concentration. Studies suggest that practicing meditation, mindfulness training, Yoga and deep breathing can help kids to increase attention, memory, focus and other cognitive abilities. Hence, it is one of the best tips to improve concentration.

Listening to music: Studies support the benefits of listening music to improve concentration. Turning on music while working or studying may help to improve concentration. Experts generally agree that classical music or nature sounds are good choices to help increase focus.

Spending time in nature: Another tips to improve concentration in kids is spending time in nature. Research suggests that natural environments could benefit brain development and may also improve concentration power in children. Even a 20-minute walk in the park could help improve concentration in kids more than a walk of the same length in an urban setting.

Foods to Improve concentration and memory in kids:

Foods that help to improve memory and concentration in studies include:

Omega 3 fatty acids:

Research has established a link between omega 3 fatty acids and brain development in early childhood.
